Amplitude + Go Fig

Marketing

Connect Amplitude product analytics to Go Fig for user behavior and revenue insights.

Amplitude is the product-analytics system of record for most mid-market SaaS companies, tracking every meaningful user action from activation through expansion. The challenge for finance is that Amplitude lives entirely in product-analytics terms, events, sessions, cohorts, with no native link to booked ARR, gross margin, or CAC payback. Go Fig connects to Amplitude via the Export API and Cohorts API, lands event streams, user properties, cohorts, funnel steps, and retention curves in your Financial Intelligence Graph, and joins user_id to the customer records already flowing in from Stripe, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or your CRM. Celeste and your AI financial analysts can then answer questions like 'what is the LTV of users who hit the activation event in week one versus week four', 'which features correlate with expansion revenue', and 'what is the churn-adjusted payback of the paid acquisition cohort that signed up in Q3'. Custom user and event properties carry through as native columns so segmentation in finance matches segmentation in product.

What you can do with Amplitude data in Go Fig

Feature-level revenue impact

Join Amplitude event data to Stripe or NetSuite revenue by user_id so finance can measure which product features correlate with expansion, retention, and gross dollar retention.

Cohort LTV and payback

Pull Amplitude cohorts directly into the Financial Intelligence Graph and calculate contribution margin and payback period for each cohort using real invoicing data.

Churn and activation diagnostics

Combine activation funnel dropoff, product usage decay, and invoice status to diagnose which leading indicators in Amplitude predict logo churn and revenue churn.

Data available from Amplitude

Go Fig extracts and normalizes the following data from your Amplitude account:

Events and event properties
Users and user properties
Sessions
Cohorts
Funnels and funnel steps
Retention matrices
Revenue events
Feature usage counters
Behavioral segments
Experiment assignments
Saved charts
Identity resolution data

How to connect Amplitude

1

Create API credentials in Amplitude

In Amplitude, open project settings and copy the API Key and Secret Key. Paste both into Go Fig. The secret key is required for the Export API, which is how Go Fig pulls raw event data rather than aggregated charts.

2

Select event streams and properties

Amplitude event volume can reach billions of rows per month. Pick which event types belong in finance reporting (typically activation, revenue, feature usage, and churn-signal events) and which user properties carry the segmentation finance uses, plan tier, industry, ARR band, company size.

3

Configure identity resolution

Choose the field that ties Amplitude user_id to your billing customer_id, usually email, a foreign key stored in user properties, or a shared UUID. Go Fig builds the join table once and maintains it on every sync.

4

Join to billing and CRM for closed-loop analysis

If Stripe, Chargebee, NetSuite, or your CRM is connected, Celeste auto-populates the product-finance starter dashboard: LTV by activation cohort, feature usage versus expansion revenue, churn-leading-indicator scorecard, and an executive summary of which product behaviors correlate with gross retention.

Authentication: API key and secret key from the Amplitude project settings. Go Fig authenticates via HTTP Basic against the Export API endpoint. The key is scoped to a single Amplitude project, so multi-project orgs connect each project separately and tag it by workspace.

Common Questions About Amplitude Integration

How does Go Fig handle Amplitude event volume at scale?

Go Fig uses the Amplitude Export API, which supports hourly or daily batched export of raw events. For accounts generating more than 100M events per month, daily export is the default to keep sync costs reasonable, with hourly available for teams that need closer-to-real-time product-finance dashboards. Events are stored at full fidelity and can be queried at any grain inside the Financial Intelligence Graph.

Can I use Amplitude cohorts directly in Go Fig?

Yes. Any cohort defined in Amplitude (whether behavioral, property-based, or predictive) can be pulled into Go Fig via the Cohorts API. Cohort membership is updated on every sync, so a 'users who activated in the last 30 days' cohort stays current and can be joined to Stripe invoices to produce cohort-level revenue metrics without maintaining the definition in two places.

Does Go Fig support Amplitude's experiments and feature flags?

Yes. Experiment assignments flow through as user properties on the event record. This lets finance measure the revenue impact of A/B tests and feature rollouts using the same billing data that drives reported ARR, producing defensible expansion and retention deltas rather than Amplitude's engagement-only metrics.

How does identity resolution work between Amplitude and billing?

Amplitude's user_id is joined to the billing customer_id via a mapping finance configures once, usually on email, on a tenant_id user property, or on an external ID pushed from your app. Anonymous Amplitude events (device_id only, no user_id) are stored but not joined until the user identifies. Go Fig flags unresolved sessions so you know how much of your traffic is pre-login.

What is the pricing impact of connecting Amplitude?

Go Fig pulls data via the Amplitude Export API, which is included on Amplitude Growth and Enterprise plans. There is no per-event cost on the Go Fig side. For very high-volume accounts, sync cadence can be tuned to daily to minimize both API load and storage consumption inside the Financial Intelligence Graph.
