How to connect Airtable

1

Generate an Airtable PAT

In Airtable, create a Personal Access Token with data.records:read scope on the bases Go Fig should access. Most customers create a Go Fig specific PAT so it can be revoked independently of other integrations.

2

Pick bases and tables

Go Fig lists bases the PAT has access to. Select the tables you want synced. Linked-record fields are followed automatically so related-record context lands in your warehouse without manual lookups.

3

Resolve Airtable type quirks

Airtable formula and rollup fields can return mixed types (string, number, error). Go Fig prompts you to declare an expected type per field at sync time, which avoids the silent type drift that breaks downstream reports.

4

Schedule sync and connect to finance

Default sync is every 30 minutes. Once data lands, it can be joined to budget actuals, cost centers, or HR data for cost tracking, capacity planning, or operational KPIs.

Authentication: Personal Access Token (PAT) with read scope on the bases you choose. PATs are revocable per-base inside Airtable, so you can grant Go Fig narrow access without exposing other workspaces.

Common Questions About Airtable Integration

How does Go Fig handle Airtable's flexible schemas?

Airtable's schema can change anytime a user adds a field. Go Fig snapshots the table schema at every sync and emits a schema-change event when fields are added, renamed, or deleted, so downstream flows don't break silently. Field renames are tracked by Airtable's stable field IDs, not labels, so a label change doesn't orphan downstream logic.

Are Airtable views supported?

Yes. You can sync entire base tables or a specific filtered view. Views are useful when you only want, say, 'invoiced projects' rather than every project. Both record-by-record sync and view-filtered sync respect Airtable's record limits per request.

How does Go Fig deal with Airtable's API rate limits?

Airtable rate-limits at 5 requests/second per base. Go Fig batches reads at the maximum 100 records per request and uses incremental sync where possible to stay well under the limit. Bases with millions of records are handled by parallelizing across tables, not records.

Can I write data back to Airtable from Go Fig?

Read is the default, but write-back is available with an upgraded PAT scope. Common write-back use cases include flagging records (e.g., setting an 'invoiced' checkbox after billing) or pushing aggregated metrics back to a summary base for non-finance users to see in the Airtable UI.

Which Airtable plans are supported?

All Airtable plans, including Free, Team, Business, and Enterprise. Enterprise customers using SCIM and SSO can additionally restrict the Go Fig PAT to a service-account user, which most security teams prefer for audit reasons.
